15mm X-COM Farm board finished.

I got all of the scenery for the Farm board done. Stable's painted, interior for the Farmhouse is finished, even got the Mutons done.

Sectoid guarding the ship

Muton waiting in outbuilding to ambush X-Com agents

Ground floor of the farmhouse with interior walls and Muton soldier
Mutons are an evil alien race that look like muscle men in green suits with purple face masks.

Mutons made from Rebel Minis 15mm Super Hero Pack A
Size comparison with a Rebel Minis Super Hero (Muton) and Khurasan Minis Sepulvedan Resistance Fighter (X-Com Trooper)

Well, that's it for now. Scenery's done. Need to keep working the minis. Thanks for looking.

Outstanding work on your game board and scenery. The figures are coming along very nicely. Can we expect to see a batrep soon?

The beauty of a board like this is that it is so timeless you can use it for almost any period of history. A WW2 or Napoleonic skirmish would work well. it is something to be very proud of, LJ!

Just like Vampifan said this can be used for other periods if you wish, excellent work especially on you're new race.

You're really inspiring. Thank you for the Mutons idea as I hadn't found a proxy for them until now.
I'd love to see a step by step tutorial of how you made the saucer, it's jst perfect.
Cheers,

Good job! And a clever use of those Rebel Minis superheroes.

Cool board! It really looks exactly like in the game, including the layout of the farm buildings and the U.F.O.
The skyranger is very good as well.
A great tribute to one of the greatest strategy games of all time!

@Brother Joseph: Thanks, man.

@Vampifan: Thanks! I really want to play a game on this table. My son who usually stays with me here during the week is back home for a couple of weeks, and when I'm home on weekends I've been working Friday, Saturday and Sunday. No time for gaming on weeknds. Maybe when he comes back up here. I do think also that this board can be used for a variety of settings. How abouts Zombies starting to overrun the countryside?

@Ray: Thanks. Now if I could paint my minis the way you've been painting yours I'd be good to go.

@Spartan117: Hi, nice to see you back online. I think the surface of Cydonia would be relatively easy, use Hirst Arts Egyptian molds for the little pyramids on a reddish desert board. The base would be hard, though.

@JBR: Thanks, it's been a fun build. Going slow because I keep playing more X-Com on Steam. :)

@Omer Golan: Thanks, I like the 3-d aspect of the tabletop.

@Angry Lurker: Thanks. I like having scenery that can be used in a variety of settings. The Mutons were a really basic paintjob which doesn't do justice to the minis, but matches the computer game graphics.

@Blacksmith: Thanks. I wish I had taken some WIP shots while building the Saucer. I will try and cobble together a mini tutorial if it will be helpful.

@Dis: Thanks, those minis were almost tailor-made for Mutons.

@Cherno: Thanks very much. I'm trying to stay true to the look of the game.

What did you decide to use for cyberdiscs? I want to do somthing similar to what you have, but focusing mostly on sectoids and their terror discs. Easier to find figures for little grey men!
