Hi, friends. Just finished a couple of Survivors. Both from Reaper Miniatures Chronoscope Modern line. Sly Withers, Street Boss and Mike Noe, Biker Boss. I mounted them on Fenris 30mm round DS city streets resin bases.
Sly first.
As you can see, he's a big guy. And putting him on the excellent Fenris base makes him tower above the other minis, especially since Reaper are kind of big, anyway.
Next up is Mike.
He's mounted on another Fenris base. I've got him stepping up onto the sidewalk. He's not nearly as large as Sly, but still very cool.
Mike will lead some EM4 bikers. I'll be posting them soon. I really love these Reaper Minis, and the Fenris bases are just wonderful. I was planning on doing more today, but ended up watching some episodes of Supernatural, Season 5 on Netflix.
I tried some more blacklining on these guys. I think it's working pretty good. Thanks for looking.
Nice job, Joe! Both these guys would probably survive a Martian attack! The Biker Boss is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThese colors are really neat. That first guy is pimpin' it in the orange and the other one has hair like Robert Plant when he was young. They're weaponed up pretty well too. I think they'd survive the Zombie Apocalypse.
ReplyDelete'Outta sight and groovy.!"
ReplyDeleteThey both look great Joe I love some of the Reaper Soul peep considered getting some for my Soul Section.
ReplyDeleteThat biker boss is cool too love the shotgun he has and the pose.
The blacklines works well. Did you use a pen?
Great work, that golden tie was great idea for someone of his status, hehe
ReplyDeletePimp daddy kane!!! Well done on both accounts.
ReplyDeleteThey both have that 1970 feeling over them. Who will be next? Kojak?
That would be awesome!!
A flash git like Sly just had to have a gold-plated pistol. Wonderful paintjob on him.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Anne, your biker boss does remind me of Robert Plant. Again, excellent paintjob and these figures are going straight on my shopping list.
Good Job!! :D
ReplyDeleteReally like the biker!
Great job Lucky Joe. I especially like Sly. The weathering on his base (particulary the kerb markings) is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThat first figure is pretty pimping I must say, I'm amazed he's not modelled to be firing his pistol gangster style.
ReplyDeleteThe biker boss is really good, gotta love the facial hair, that could repel zombies alone.
Pimptastic and Biker-brilliant Joe !
ReplyDeletePaintjob is superb and I really like your colour combinations, staying away from a long black leather coat look must have been difficult, especially for the Biker Boss !
Two excellent looking dudes!!! A 70's pimp and a dude out of Easy Rider.....Cool!!!!
ReplyDeleteLoving that pimp! bit wrong but you know what i mean.
ReplyDelete@Jay: Thanks very much. I could just hear them talking to the Martians "Probe this, mf-er" :)
ReplyDelete@Anne: Thanks very much. I wasn't sure about the orange at first, but it's growing on me. Biker is kinda Plantastic. :)
@Irqan: Thanks. Now I want to get some more 70's type minis. I wonder if they make a Starsky and Hutch. Sly can be Huggy Bear. :)
@Brummie: Thanks very much. These are couple of cool minis, and there are several other cool ones in my cart on e-bay. :) I did the blacklining with an 18/0 brush, using a mixture of paint and black ink. I've tried pens but I always have a lot of trouble with them either leaving too much ink, or not enough.
@Mathyoo: Thanks. I'm glad you like the gold tie. I wasn't sure about that either, but I think it works.
@Lord Siwoc: LOL! Pimp Daddy Kane. I like that. :) Kojak would be cool, but I'd rather do Starsky and Hutch so I can get a red and white Gran Torino. Always wanted one of those, and I can probably afford a model a lot better.
@Vampifan: Thanks very much. I was thinking of Lloyd Jefferson Wade from "Resident Evil: Apocalypse". [When a S.T.A.R.S. officer hands him a shotgun] "Motherfucker, please. [opens his jacket to reveal his two golden Desert Eagles] My shit is custom". One of the best lines in the movie. :)
@Zerloon: Thanks very much. I'm glad you like him.
@Lead Legion: Thanks very much. I wanted the kerb to look like the yellow had been rubbed off by tires. I really love those Fenris bases.
@Mecha Ace: Thanks! That biker's whiskers are very stylin'. And now you've given me a great idea to convert Sly so he's holding his gat Gangster style. :)
@Zabadak: Thanks very much. Pimptastic and Biker-brilliant. I like that a lot. I'm glad you like the brown coat. I have a Hasslefree not-Spike from Buffy and Angel on the workbench, and I didn't want too many long black leather coats. :)
@Ray: I got a good laugh from the reference to Easy Rider. I used to sneak in and read my big brother's "Easy Rider" magazines, back when I was pulling myself through puberty. :)
@Henry's Tat: I know what you mean, but still a cool mini. He'll be a cool, proud, Survivor. :)
Very good job! I really liked the colors.
ReplyDeleteGreat work on some cool minis. I think the variety of survivors you've collected really makes this project shine. Zombie movies are about character interaction after all!
ReplyDelete@See On TV: Thanks very much. I wanted some bright colors for these.
ReplyDelete@Spacejacker: Thanks. That's a good point about variety of characters. I'm getting there. Now I can start off a batrep with "A Nun, a biker and a pimp walk into a bar" and have the minis for it. :)
Sly is very fly, the second is Sons of Anarchy material, great work....
ReplyDelete@Fran: Thanks very much. He's superfly. :) I could just about see trying to put some SOA colors on Mike.
ReplyDeleteLove the pimp! The Fenris bases look great. I picked some up for a Gears of War project, Ian does some superb stuff.
ReplyDeleteNice work, Lucky Joe

@Zombie Ad: Thanks. Those Fenris bases are very nice. I have some of the PA rubble bases, too, that I'll be using soon.
ReplyDelete@Dwilde: Thanks very much. These were fun to paint.
Very much liking those; a pimp survivor needs to look 'fly', zombie apocalypse or no zombie apocalypse - sho 'nuff.
ReplyDelete@pulpcitizen: Thanks :)
