Update on the 15K not Space Marine Vehicles

Hi, folks. I'm just about done with my vehicles for my 15K not Space Marine vehicle series. These were made using slightly converted Bravo Team 1/72 scale M113s. I still need to add side sponson weapons to the not Predator. There's a 15mm Blue Moon Orion Republic Heavy Infantry mini pictured for scale.

Some 15K Not Space Marine Conversions

Hi, folks. Finally got around to making a few conversions for my 15K Not Space Marine army. These guys are Blue Moon 15mm Orion Republic Heavy Infantry. I had been planning to add a powerfist to one of the helmet-less figures. I had bought some of the GZG Alien Mercs, initially to raid for the powerfist I wanted, but after getting them and seeing them IRL, I couldn't bring myself to mess them up that way. So now I've got another 20 Not-Space Orks, which coupled with my 50 Shia Khan from 15mm.co.uk, is growing into a respectable little force. Anyway, here's some more pics of the 15K Not-Space Marine command types.

Pic on the left is the mini type I used for the other conversions. I chose him because he has a free left hand, and is not wearing a helmet.

Pic below shows a not-Chaplain, not-Captain, and not-Librarian

These conversions were very basic. I simply drilled through the left hands and inserted a short piece of wire for the Chaplain's "crozius", a longer wire for the Librarian's staff, and a sword for the Captain.

15K not- Rhino & not-Razorback WIP

Hi, folks. I've been working here & there on the second not Rhino/Razorback conversion. Got them mostly done. Did some detail painting on both. The second one is slightly different in that I added a little ledge along the lower edge of the sides and a different hatch, The hatch on the second not-Rhino is from a faceted fake gem. I think that makes it pop a little more. Now I'm just waiting on the turrets from Old Crow so I can try a not-Whirlwird and a not-Predator.

I think I need to make the "decals" blend in better. Any suggestions on how to do that?

Thanks for looking. Comments & Criticism welcome.

Rhino Comparison pics

Hi, folks. I had a request for comparison pics of the Bravo Team 1/72 scale M113 with an actual GW Rhino, so here they are.

Bravo Team M113 (blue) in foreground

It was a busy day today.

I did a little work on the second Bravo Team M113 this afternoon. Got it's plasticard side panels mostly done. Need to place a hatch on one side and to paint the panels. With the detachable gun I'll be able to field one Razorback and one Rhino, or two Rhinos. (I haven't made the second Razorback gun yet.) Also, I recently ordered some turrets from Old Crow for a not-Predator and not-Whirlwind. I'm looking forward to trying those out. Thanks to Erraticassassin from TMP for the tip about the Old Crow turrets.

I also picked up an IMEX City Police Playset from Hobby Lobby with a nice little plastic M113 which is almost the same size as a GW Rhino. That's going to come in handy for my sons' GW Space Marine and Chaos Space Marine armies, and at $5.99 it's a lot cheaper than a GW Rhino. Just needs a little converting. Thanks to Coabeous from TMP for the tip about the police M113. I'll be posting some pics of that coming up.

Also got my order from EM4 of their plastic Space troopers and Space Rangers and spent a little time assembling some and checking them out. After reading Germy's recent thread about the troopers on the Lead Adventure Forum I had went and ordered some. I'm glad I did. Very nice little minis, especially with the Command conversion kit and Heavy Weapons add-ons, and great value for the money. But I really love the Space Rangers, plastic power-armor troops who tower over the regular troopers, with a very nice assortment of weapons. They will feature here prominently soon.

Then I did a little work on some 15mm terrain. A small bunker, auto-gun tower, and a guard platform mainly from Hirst Arts. Assembled and primed, with a little start on painting. I'm going to try a primarily white pj, with detail in black. Pics up in a while.

15K - 15mm Blue Moon Orion Republic Heavy Infantry

Hi, folks. I've been working on some of the new Blue Moon Orion Republic Heavy Infantry minis. Managed to get 10 of them ready for pics. These are great minis, well-sculpted and come 10 unique sculpts to a pack for $6. I'm planning to use them as not - Space Marines in 15mm 40K (15K). When I saw Spacejacker's excellent paintjob of these minis he posted back in July on the Tiny Solitary Soldiers blog I knew I had found my not - SMs. No way I can match the beautiful cammie paint job he did so I just went with a standard blue for the armor with gray or silver details on the armor, silver weapons and visors, and a black wash to bring out detail.

This is the leader. I painted his armor detail silver instead of gray. I'm trying to come up with a powerfist or chain sword for him. Any suggestions?

Heavy weapons guy. He has a stand to support the weapon but I chose to omit it.

One of the 5-man squads.

I've got 20 more of these guys halfway painted on the table now as well. Once finished I'll have a good 500point army for 15K. Thanks for looking,

15K Armies - Khurasan Minis Space Demons

This is my not-Tyranid army. 3 Space Demon Queens (center) as the HQ unit. 1 pack of 8 each of the Space Demon Warrior varieties; Hammerhead, Assault, and Infiltrator. I'll probably divide those into 2 units of 10 or 12. I love these little guys, Great scupts and they paint up easily. I did a simple, basic paint job on them. Black spray basecoat, yellow drybrush, MinWax dip, touch up yellow again, sand and flock bases.
