A couple more vehicles

This is for Papa Spanky. On my last vehicle post, he asked for some more shots of the garbage truck and gas tanker. So here they are. I've had these for a few years. The garbage truck is made by RealToys and I think I bought it at Toys R Us. The Tanker Truck I got off E-bay. It doesn't have a manufacturer name anywhere on it.

Garbage Truck
This is a nice little model with lots of little detail. It's 8.5 inches long by 2 5/8 high by 2 inches wide.

There are even little steps on the back for the garbage man to stand on.
Pic above: The rear section of the truck raises up. The lever with the handle on that raised section turns a little compactor arm within the raised section.
Pic above shows the cargo section of the truck where the compacted trash (or Zombies) would be carried.
The dumpster detaches and can even open.

Tanker Truck
This sucker is big.
15 inches long, 3 3/4 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide.
The trailer itself is 11 inches long.

The cab has lots of nice detail and can be used without the trailer.
The trailer and cab together may be a little too large for 28mm, but jack-knifed it does a great job blocking an intersection.

Well, there you go folks. Thanks for looking.

  3. I thought the garbage truck was big, until I saw that tanker ! it really is a huge model Joe - so when are you starting your 6-lane highway , so you can jack-knife across all the lanes ?

  4. @Irqan: Thanks very much. I've been lucky in my finds. There are only a few more I need to get. I'd like a nice articulated city bus, and maybe a taxi. I've got a nice Dollar Store hummer I'm working on, that's a lot bigger than the last one I showed. Maybe add a Semi Cab with a sleeper, and I think I'll be about done for vehicles. I also have on e of the new Armorcast "Mystery Machine" vans from Scooby Doo in the mail somewhere. :)

@Spacejacker: Thanks. I know what you mean. I used to spend half my week in a small apartment down in Dayton when I was teaching. I went with 15mm then. I still love 15mm. And with the new Khurasan Survivors and Zombies I'm tempted to order more 15mm, even though I'm concentrating on 28mm now.

@PulpCitizen: Thanks. I'm trying to go for kind of iconic vehicle types, and sort of made a list of what I wanted. You know: ambulance - check, garbage truck - check, etc. :)

  5. @Zabadak: Hi, you must have commented while I was typing my first reply. Now that's a cool idea. Wouldn't it be great to make a board of abandoned cars on a highway, kind of like Walking Dead? I'd need a lot more cars, though.

Hey, I'd trade you half my park for that rig :P

  10. Thank you Thank you!
I am pictureing that garbage truck modeled with bodies of zeds that have been put down. An all white tanker with no markings, just begging for customization...
You really are lucky, Joe. nice finds!

  15. That tanker truck could be a scenario on its own! Beautiful!!!

Place it in the middle of the board. The survivors need to spend 3 turns basetobase to it in order to fill up some cans.

  20. That dump truck is really nice. You should put some zombies in the rear of it so it looks like they're getting crushed to death. That tanker is huuuge. You could jackknife it and then make a huge pile up of wrecked cars behind it. I have to go toy shopping now!!

  21. Joe, this is not my first visit to your page, but my first comment.

I think you must have one of the best 28mm gaming setups I've ever seen outside of a commercial wargaming event.

Do you use Ambush Alley zombie rules?
